Overland and adventure vehicle builds

Trucks, vans and SUVs built to live out of, from the power system to the rooftop tent, by the team that has been wiring vehicles for decades.

For outfitters and adventure-vehicle builders, guide and rental companies, and individual owners planning a serious build.

Overland & Adventure Vehicle Builds

One plan for the whole build

An overland build is a set of systems that all have to work together far from help: power, water, sleep, storage, climate, lighting and the suspension that carries it all. Car Toys plans those systems as one build, so the battery bank is sized for the fridge and heater you actually run, the roof rack is rated for the tent you choose, and every wire is fused and routed for washboard roads.

We work with outfitters and builders who need a dependable installation partner, and with owners who want a single shop to take their truck, van or SUV from stock to trail-ready. Our fabrication team builds the brackets, mounts and enclosures you cannot buy, including 3D-printed housings for switches, displays and electronics.

How an upfit project works

  1. Talk to our commercial team

Tell us about your vehicles, your crews and what they need to carry, power or protect. We will ask the right questions and visit if it helps.

  2. Approve a written spec

We recommend products and a layout, price each vehicle configuration, and send a written spec and quote for approval.

  3. Build and review a pilot

For multi-vehicle orders we upfit one vehicle first and walk it with your team before the rest of the order is built to match.

  4. Install, test and document

Every vehicle is installed to the manufacturers' instructions, tested system by system, and documented.

  5. Deliver ready to work

Vehicles are returned on schedule with documentation, so they go straight into service.

Questions we hear often

Which vehicles do you build?

Full-size and mid-size pickups, Jeeps and 4x4 SUVs, and cargo vans including high-roof and AWD models. Bring us the platform you love and we will plan around it.

Can you build in stages?

Yes. Many owners start with power and lighting, then add racks, a tent, suspension or a full interior later. We plan the wiring and mounting so each stage builds on the last.

Do you work with outfitters and builders?

Yes. We install for companies that build, sell or rent adventure vehicles and can match a standard package across multiple units.

Where are builds done?

Builds are completed by Car Toys installation teams. Contact us to plan your build and choose the right location.
