A car remote, also known as a key fob or remote keyless entry (RKE) device, is a small electronic device used to remotely control various functions of a car. It typically works through radio frequency signals or infrared signals. The primary functions of a car remote include:

1. Locking and Unlocking Doors: Car remotes allow users to lock and unlock their vehicle's doors without physically inserting a key into the lock.
2. Alarm System Control: Car remotes can also be used to arm or disarm the car's security alarm system.
3. Trunk Release: Many car remotes have a button to remotely open the trunk or liftgate, which can also be operated by most aftermarket remotes.
4. Panic Button: A panic button activates the car's alarm system to deter potential threats and attract attention.
5. Remote Start: Some systems come with a remote start feature, enabling the user to start the car's engine from a distance. This is particularly useful for pre-warming or cooling the interior before getting in.

Alarm and Remote Start prices include Standard Installation at any of our Car Toys locations. Most vehicles 1998 and newer require a bypass or door lock module for an additional $69.99. Depending on vehicle make/model/year, additional parts and labor may be required to complete the installation.
