Good to know: Washington allows slightly darker tint (24% VLT minimum) than Colorado (27% VLT minimum),
and the two states differ on reflectivity rules.

Here are the questions and answers to what our customers ask most.
How long does tinting take?
Most sedans are completed in 2–3 hours. SUVs and trucks typically take 3–4 hours. Full-vehicle coverage (including windshield) can take up to 5 hours. Your installer will give you an exact estimate when you drop off your vehicle.
How do I care for new tint?
Leave your windows rolled up for 3–5 days so the film can fully cure. After that, clean with a soft microfiber cloth and an ammonia-free glass cleaner. Avoid abrasive tools and rough sponges, which can scratch the film.
Does tint affect phone or GPS signal?
High-quality non-metallic films—including all of our carbon and ceramic options—will not interfere with cellular, GPS, Bluetooth, or radio signals. Only older metallic-based films have this issue, and Car Toys does not install them.
What's the difference between ceramic and regular tint?
Regular (dyed) tint mainly darkens glass for privacy and glare control. Ceramic tint uses nano-ceramic particles to block up to 99.9% of UV rays and a far larger share of infrared heat, so the inside of your car stays cooler. Ceramic also resists fading and purpling much longer than standard film.
Will tinting void my warranty?
No. Professionally installed aftermarket window tint does not void your vehicle's factory warranty. Car Toys uses computer-plotted, pre-cut patterns that install without scratching or damaging glass, gaskets, or defrost lines. Our installation work is also protected by a lifetime guarantee.
What tint percentage is best for privacy?
A 20% VLT tint (80% light blocked) is popular for rear-cabin privacy, though it may exceed the legal limit for front side windows in some states. For a balance of privacy and legal compliance up front, most drivers choose 35% VLT on the front and 20% or darker on the back glass — check your state's legal minimums and ask your installer for the best combo.
How long does window tint last?
A quality dyed film typically lasts 5–7 years. Carbon film can last 10+ years without fading, and premium ceramic film often lasts the life of the vehicle. All Car Toys installations include a lifetime installation guarantee against bubbling, peeling, and delamination.
Can you tint just the front windows?
Yes. Many customers tint only the two front windows to match factory-tinted rear glass on SUVs and trucks. We'll match the existing shade as closely as possible so your car looks consistent from front to back.

We strongly recommend booking an appointment so we can pre-order the exact film pattern for your vehicle and guarantee your preferred time. Same-day appointments are often available at most of our 18 locations.
