1955 Chevy Bel-Air
Installer: Nick Towry, Car Toys-Lewisville, Texas
This car was beautiful! The customer's father had a '55 Bel Air during his childhood. When he retired from 30+ years of military service, his wife and children bought him one as a restoration project. He and his son built the car over the course of 3 years, and did most of the work themselves. They put in a 300hp V8 engine, 5-speed transmission, bucket seats from an '02 Tahoe, with customer upholstery. They had everything but a stereo and a console. I built this custom console from scratch for a Pioneer AVH-P4400BH, 2 cup holders, and some storage. The customer requested no metal hardware and a look that kept the theme of the car. The console is built with 1/2" and 3/4" MDF, wrapped in red marine vinyl, and the inside is lined with black carpet. The cupholder is lined with cork, and has an acrylic bottom plate.
