Each model has a specified allotment of numbers or two-digit sequences that can be used for speed-dialing.

Allows the phone user to view the numbers in memory, displayed alphabetically.

Message Waiting Indicator (Wireless Plan Feature)
If you have new messages waiting in your Voice Mail, Message Waiting Indicator gives you a stutter tone when you turn your phone on.

Midrange Type (Product Attribute)
A loudspeaker specifically designed to reproduce the frequencies in the middle of the audible bandwidth. Usually between three and eight inches in diameter. Commonly referred to as the low frequency driver in a set of separates.

Modem function (Wireless Phone Feature)
The phone can be used with a personal computer to send or receive data through functionality built into the phone. Requires a compatible data cable or infrared connection, with data service from a provider. May also require a cellular-compatible PCMCIA card (PC Card) accessory for use with laptop computers.

Mounting Depth (inches) (Product Attribute)
Mounting Depth determines the size necessary to have the product flush with any dash, and or mounting medium. You will want to make sure that you have enough mounting depth available for the product you are looking in to, or else custom installation may be required.

Multiband (Wireless Phone Feature)
A wireless phone that can roam internationally. In addition to working on North American networks, the phone employs GSM, CDMA or other Euro-Asian technology. Sometimes called world phone (not to be confused with satellite phones).

Multifunction call timers (Wireless Phone Feature)
Phones that provide several methods of tracking airtime use, including resettable (length of each call), individual (stores in memory amount of airtime incurred by each user), audible (alert sounds on minute increments), cumulative (tracks total airtime in a billing cycle) and data timer (time spent accessing the wireless Internet).

Multiline/large LCD display (Wireless Phone Feature)
Cell phones with a larger display and more text lines present more information to the user at a time.

Multiparty calling (Wireless Phone Feature)
Several parties can be brought into the conversation. With some service plans, the others disconnect as well when you hang up. Also known as conference calling.
