As the new home for broadcasting Mariners games, KOMO 1000 News out of Seattle was looking to do something big. Their vision was an interactive vehicle that could be taken to every home game at Safeco Field. They wanted the ability to play Mariners highlights, video games, trivia games and a host of other features. After competing with a few other companies for the rights to the Mojo Machine Adam Nonis and Ross Fahlen at the Bellevue, WA Car Toys were handed the project.
Adam and Ross were able to turn a 30ft. RV into KOMO’s mobile Mariners billboard. They started by gutting the entire RV except for the fridge and the front driving area. Next, they cut large holes in the side to make room for the five 36” TV’s that are housed inside. Each TV is capable of playing DVD, VHS, video games, even hooking up a lap top computer for presentations or games. The best part is that each TV operates separate from the others allowing a DVD to play on one while video games are played on another. The doors to the RV are automatically lifted using linear actuators and each compartment houses weatherproof speakers and lighting for Mariners night games.
Some of the custom touches Adam and Ross added were a back-up camera (Since all the windows were removed), flood lights recessed into the side of the RV and re-routing the exhaust system through the roof so that the rig can re-charge the batteries without blowing exhaust in everyone’s face. As you can see, this is truly a one-of-a-kind install.
You can catch the KOMO 1000 News at every Seattle Mariners home game and all over the Seattle area.
