The term “overbuilt” gets thrown around a lot, but in the case of the W0v3's, it actually applies.
With beefy 2.0 or 2.5-inch voice coils and our patented Elevated Frame Cooling, they're certainly capable of handling power. They also offer best-in-class excursion capability, with motors refined using our exclusive DMA modeling system for increased output and better sound quality.
The W0v3's incorporate a new terminal and a lead-wire system woven into the spider, along with a new metallic silver frame finish that looks great in any installation.
When the going gets loud, the W0v3's are built to perform like no other woofers in their price class, making them ideal for those seeking high performance from an affordable subwoofer system.
DMA Optimized Motor System
DMA is JL Audio's proprietary Dynamic Motor Analysis system and is aimed at improving dynamic motor behavior. As a result of DMA optimization, W0v3 motors remain linear in motor force over a long range of excursion and also maintain a highly stable fixed magnetic field in the gap over a wide power range. This leads to vastly reduced distortion and faithfully reproduced transients... or put simply: tight, clean, articulate bass.
Elevated Frame Cooling
The elevated frame design of the W0v3 delivers cool air through slots directly above the top-plate to the voice coil of the speaker. This not only enhances power handling, but also sound quality by minimizing dynamic parameter shifts and power compression.

The W0v3's offer more linear excursion than our original W6 subwoofers, at less than half the price!

For maximum application flexibility, W0v3's are designed for use in compact sealed or medium-size ported enclosures.
- 10W0v3: 0.65 cu.ft. sealed
- 12W0v3: 1.375 cu.ft. sealed
- 15W0v3: 1.75 cu.ft. sealed
From a reliability standpoint, this zone represents a very comfortable operating power range for each driver. This level of power will not stress the woofer but will not extract all of its performance potential, either.
Use of less than the minimum power level will not damage the woofer, but may result in unsatisfactory performance.
This zone represents the best compromise between long-term reliability, high-output and low- distortion performance. This power level is lower than the woofer's continuous power rating(as published in its specifications), but you will still be taking advantage of the woofer's, low-distortion performance range without undue risk of failure.
Red (Danger Zone):
Slightly more SPL will be gained by pushing the power into this zone, but typically not more than 2dB, compared to the yellow zone. The subwoofer driver is designed to operate safely up to this power range, but not beyond. Operate with caution.
Black (Warranty Void):
We do not recommend operating woofers at this level of power. In this zone, there is a very high probability that the driver will fail due to excessive heat and/or mechanical stress.
Subwoofer drivers operated at these levels of power are NOT covered under warranty.
