5 Reasons to Upgrade your Car Stereo

We all know someone whose car stereo could really use an upgrade. Maybe you are that someone.

Sure, your car may not have the best sound quality or come equipped with the latest features such as Bluetooth with dual phone connection, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Navigation, or the ability to expand your sound system. But you don't really need any of these features, right?

You absolutely do and here are a few reasons why:

1. Make Traffic Fun

I know what you’re thinking. Traffic is just about the worst thing in the world. How can you possibly make it fun?

Traffic falls somewhere between passing a kidney stone and stepping on a Lego barefoot in terms of the 3 most painful things imaginable. The U.S. Census Bureau states the average commute in the U.S. is 25.4 minutes, each way, which comes out to over 4 hours per week. Many of us needlessly suffer through this with a subpar stereo system. Create a more fun, relaxing commute with an easy to operate, feature packed Car Stereo!

2. You Are Going on A Road Trip

Nothing enhances a road trip more than some good tunes.

Picture this: The new Bieber jam is out but you have no way to hook up your iPhone or Android device to your Car Stereo. Unfortunately, you’re still rocking a factory stereo that did not come equipped with Bluetooth Audio. What a shame!

Fortunately, most new aftermarket stereos come with this feature. Some aftermarket stereos even have a feature called “Dual Phone Connection” so you and a passenger can both connect at the same time. Your passenger can control the music while you have quick access to make a phone call if needed. This leads to the next and possibly most important reason to upgrade your stereo:

3. Safety

According to AAA, distracted driving accounts for more than 500,000 traffic injuries each year.  According to the Washington state Department of Licensing, a driver talking on a cell phone is as impaired as a driver with a .08 blood-alcohol level.

Many states have passed laws requiring the use of hands free devices while driving. Features like a Backup Camera, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto allow you to keep your eyes on the road and have increased visibility for greater safety.

4. Summer Driving Season

Summertime is finally here! It’s no secret that we are all on the road more this time of year. AAA states people drive on average 25.7 miles during the winter and 30.6 miles during the summer. The increase in time you will be spending in your vehicle makes this the perfect time of year to invest in a new stereo.

5. Because it’s Awesome

And finally, you really need a new Car Stereo because it is way more fun to have one!

Imagine you are on a first date and things are going well, but then you pop on your favorite slow jams and it just sounds flat. Tragically, this is all too common of an occurrence.

Many aftermarket stereos have pre-outs that you can hook an amplifier and sub-woofers up to. This allows you to listen to your favorite songs the way they are supposed to sound. Whether you are camping with friends, on a hot date, or cruising the local strip with your entourage, it is way more fun to have a good sounding, attractive, easy to use car stereo.

I am not saying if you keep your old stereo you will pass a kidney stone, step on a Lego, get into a car accident, have a horrible summer and end up alone with no friends… I AM saying we should all take a little advice from the great Ben Franklin when he said “Why do tomorrow what can be done today.”
